CDOC Leadership Team
Chair: Sora Park Tanjasiri, DrPH, MPH
Greetings CDOC Community – it is with the greatest honor that I serve as co-chair alongside Dr. Alison Hermann (co-chair) and Bridget Freeley (vice-chair) to support the important work of the California Dialogue on Cancer and the implementation of the 2022-2025 strategic plan. I cannot think of a more critical time to be focusing on cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, survivorship, advocacy and research, and welcome the opportunity to continue the work of our amazing CDOC staff and visionary out-going CDOC chair, Zul Surani. Thank you in advance for your involvement in CDOC’s many vital committees, partnerships, meetings and/or trainings, and I look forward to growing all of our collaborations in the coming years.Read more about Sora here.
Co-Chair: Alison Herrmann, PhD
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve alongside Dr. Sora Tanjasiri and Ms. Bridget Freeley as your new CDOC Co-Chair. For nearly ten years, I have participated in various aspects of CDOC, including the Executive Committee, the Cancer Plan Advisory Committee, and multiple working groups. In each of these capacities, I have been both impressed and inspired by the knowledge, passion and dedication that CDOC members bring to this work. Meeting the cancer needs of a population as large and diverse as California’s is no small task. Yet, by working together, we can spur improvements in cancer incidence and mortality, reduce cancer disparities, and improve the lives of survivors and their families. It has been a pleasure to witness and support the incredible progress that CDOC has made over the past several years under the leadership of Mr. Zul Surani. I look forward to working with Dr. Tanjasiri and Bridget Freeley the CDOC membership to build on this success and take the next steps in our collective efforts to meet the cancer needs of all Californians.
