The development of California's Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan, 2026-2035 is complete. This ten-year plan prioritizes goals and objectives that can be routinely revised based on evolving evidence and emerging needs. The fifth iteration of the cancer plan aims to achieve its goals and objectives by 2035. The process involved over 100 cancer control partners from across California who provided subject matter expertise to create a data-driven, evidence-based plan. The revision process started in the fall of 2023 and was completed in June 2025. The plan has been submitted to the California Department of Public Health for approval, with an anticipated release date in early 2026. Currently a state Cancer Plan implementation committee is focusing on outreach, dissemination, and implementation.
