CDOC Program Achievements FY 24-25

CDOC Cancer Centers Collaborative:

• Convened three meetings averaging 45 attendees each meeting

CDOC Cancer Surveillance Data Webinar Series:

• Presented three webinars reaching more than 95 members combined

California Cancer Control Leadership Team (CCCLT):

• Continued coordination to connect state cancer control leadership with various federally funded cancer control programs and other partners on collaborative activities

Breast and Colorectal Cancer Screening Implementation Project (BCCSIP):

• Implemented the project in collaboration with Department of Health Care Services, Every Woman Counts program, & the California Colorectal Cancer Coalition (C4)

• Selected seven federally qualified health centers to implement evidence-based interventions to increase colorectal and breast cancer screening

Collaboration on Underrepresented Data Project:

• Continued collaboration on the Underrepresented Data Project with the Health Access & Disparities Workgroup, NCI-designated Cancer Centers, CCR, and other partners, aimed at ensuring data health equity

State Cancer Plan Activities:

• Established a 24-member Cancer Plan Implementation Committee and developed the State Cancer Plan Implementation Guides

Lung Cancer Screening Activities:

• Launched the Lung Cancer Screening Story Map website

• Attended the George Washington  (GW) University Cancer Center Lung Cancer Screening Workshop, contributing to the establishement of a new lung cancer screening objective for the Comprehensive Cancer Action Plan and supporting efforts to strengthen state lung cancer screening strategies

California HPV Vaccination Roundtable 

Engaging Health Systems  & Providers Workgroup

• Delivered multiple Announcement Approach Trainings accross various health systems, equipping health care professionals with evidence-based skills to make strong, supportive HPV vaccine recommendations

• Educated more than 120 health care providers, QI leads, and other professionals on evidence-based strategies to increase HPV vaccination as part of the HPV Vaccination Quarterly Learning Collaborative sessions: Jan 21 and Apr 15 , 2026 (view past recordings)

Meetings:

• Convened more than 80 HPV vaccination partners at the in-person 2025 CA HPV Vaccination Roundtable Annual Meeting on December 10, 2025 in Los Angeles, to collaborate on strategies to increase HPV vaccination

Current Work

• California Colorectal Cancer Screening Health Plan Learning Collaborative 

• State Cancer Plan 2026-2035 dissemination and implementation planning 

• Working with the California Cancer Registry (CCR) on surveillance program objectives (e.g. Cancer Surveillance Data Webinars) 

• Coordinating coalition meetings with coalition memberhsip 

• Coordinating covening meetings of the CDOC Cancer Centers Collaborative 

• CDOC Survivorship Workgroup Community Health Worker (CHW) and Psychosocial Support & Caregiver Support projects

• Continuing collaboration on the Underreported Data Project in collaboration with CCR, NCI-designated cancer centers, and LGBTQ+ community partners. 

• Co-coordinating the CA HPV Vaccination Roundtable and leading Health Systems and Providers Workgroup

• Working with CDOC Evaluation Team (CET) to coordinate evaluation activities

• Established new Patient and Community Advisory Group (PCAG)
