Marta Jankowska is an Associate Professor in Population Sciences at the Beckman Research Institute as well as the Director of Data and Analytics for the Office of Health Access and Community Enrichment at City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles, CA. As a health geographer, she is interested in most everything to do with spatial aspects of health and has a wide-ranging research agenda. In particular, she is passionate about merging multi-levels of health data from the microbiome and omics to biomarker outcomes, to health behaviors, to environmental exposures and structural racism policies. In the Office of HACE at City of Hope, she is working towards integrating diverse data streams to generate insights into patient SDOH needs and how SDOH risks lead to various clinical outcomes. She is tasked with developing AI strategy for improving equitable outcomes among all COH patients. Her other full-time gig is caring after the small army of children and animals that have taken over her home, and sometimes succeeds in getting out for a hike or skiing in her hometown of Denver, CO.
