Shauntay Davis-Patterson is the current Program Director for California's Comprehensive Cancer Control Program housed under the California Department of Public Health. Ms. Davis-Patterson is responsible for leading the development and coordinating the implementation of the state’s comprehensive cancer control plan, as well as administering the state cancer coalition, the California Dialogue on Cancer. She has more than 12 years of professional experience in cancer prevention and control and has gained knowledge and experience in many areas spanning the continuum of cancer. Her current work includes a focus on colorectal cancer screening, HPV vaccination, and cancer survivorship. Ms. Davis-Patterson’s public health career has included work in the areas of sexual health, HIV/AIDS, and tobacco control with various organizations. Her experience includes working with special populations, health care access issues, social marketing campaigns, coalition building, and public health research. She has lived in South Africa and Costa Rica studying public health, conducting research and working with non-governmental organizations. Ms. Davis-Patterson volunteers her time leading a lupus support group in the Sacramento area, and enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
