Rita Singhal, MD, MPH

Dr. Rita Singhal currently serves as the Chief Medical Advisor for the Health Promotion Bureau in Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Board certified in Internal Medicine and a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Dr. Singhal has completed fellowship training in Women’s Health and Health Services Research and received her MPH at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Dr. Singhal serves as a medical expert on chronic disease prevention and addressing social determinants of health, and has dedicated her career to improving the health of underserved communities in Los Angeles County. As an attending physician in the Department of Medicine at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, she provides clinical care to women with complicated medical issues and provides instruction to residents and medical students. In her previous position as Medical Director of the Office of Women’s Health and currently, she leads the department’s cancer prevention and HPV vaccine promotion work by serving as co-chair of the Los Angeles HPV Vaccine Coalition, serving on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society - Los Angeles Central Coast region, and working with a variety of partners at the state and county level.
