Anna Knight is a passionate mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, auntie, sister and family nurse practitioner with over 25 years health care experience. Anna is also a resilient cancer survivor.
Anna has worked for several tribal health programs in the state and now works for the Indian Health Service, California Area, Office of Public Health as a healthcare consultant.
Her work with IHS is focused on addressing the healthcare concerns of the 109 federally recognized tribes within California, delivering health promotion/disease prevention and clinical support to the 34 tribal health programs who operate a total of 66 ambulatory clinics within the state. Health equity is of the greatest importance to Native Americans/Alaska Natives living in California as there remain persistent health disparities as compared to other races and it is her goal to impact this for the better. Anna is a native of California as well as a Cherokee Nation tribal member from Oklahoma. She holds a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University and received her Master of Science from Georgetown University.
