Amanda discovered her passion for public health as a former pre-med major, where she embarked on a medical aid trip in East Africa where many public health interventions were used. Amanda then changed her course and received her Bachelor’s in Health Science from Hawaii Pacific University and her Master’s in Public Health from A.T. Still University. Amanda’s previous work includes Tobacco Control Prevention and Policy roles helping to address and change tobacco policies among various indigenous, underserved, and tobacco industry targeted populations. Amanda is currently a Cancer Control Strategic Partnerships Manager for the Central Coast at American Cancer Society. Amanda collaborates with community health partners among the Central Coast to provide cancer prevention, screening and early detection, and educational information within various populations.
