Cancer Survivorship: Enhancing Psychosocial Support for Cancer Survivors FY24-25

Purpose
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Chronic Disease Surveillance and Research Branch (CDSRB), Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (Comp Cancer) on behalf of the California Dialogue on Cancer (CDOC) is looking to fund organizations in California to increase support networks that offer group psychosocial support to help survivors express and manage disease-related emotions, increase social support, enhance relationships with family and physicians, and improve symptom control. Priority consideration will be given to projects that reach American Indian (AI)/Alaskan Native (AN) and/or rural populations. Funding will not be awarded in the form of a grant. Selected organizations will receive funding upon completion of activities.
Available Funding
Funds are available for projects working to increase psychosocial support for cancer survivors. A total of $25,000 is available to fund up to four organizations.
Eligibility
Non-profit institutions such as the following organizations/entities may apply:
IRS recognized 501(c)3 organizations
School districts
Health Systems (i.e. health centers, hospitals)
Employers with services in California
Academic Institutions
Local health departments
Timeline
RFA application deadline: November 29, 2024, by 5pm Pacific Standard Time. Applications should be emailed to Shauntay.Davis@cdph.ca.gov subject line Application - CDOC RFA #24-10557. Applications received after the due date/time will not be accepted. The project period is estimated to begin on January, 2, 2025, and end no later than June 29, 2025.
