Yoli Origel

Cancer Kinship

Yoli Origel is the Executive Director and Founder of Cancer Kinship, a nonprofit that aims to improve health equity by addressing the psychosocial and mental health challenges experienced by the cancer community (www.cancerkinship.org). She is a 15-year Stage 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma survivor and has made it her life’s mission to support fellow cancer warriors through her work at Cancer Kinship.

Yoli extensive experience in the nonprofit sector spans nearly 30 years. Her love of nonprofit service began when she joined the Boys & Girls Club Youth Advisory Council in Central California at the age of fifteen. Her love for nonprofits grew after moving to Orange County in 2004 when she served as Campaign Manager of a multimillion-dollar capital campaign, and as Marketing & Communications Director for local YMCA branches. Prior to launching Cancer Kinship in 2018, she served for nearly ten years as Interim Director of Organization Development and as a Nonprofit Solutions Specialist.

Yoli is currently serving as Co-Chair of Orange County Cancer Coalition, is a member of the Samueli Patient Advocacy and Empowerment Collective (PAEC) in partnership with the Integrative Oncology Leadership Collaborative. She also serves as an Advisory Member of UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity, and as Internal Advisory Committee Member, Biobehavioral Shared Resource at UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has a genuine thirst for life and seeks “awe” in everything she does. She enjoys hiking, cooking, catching sunsets, skydiving, Brazilian Jiujitsu, and loves spending time family and friends.
