Theresa Alfaro-Velcamp, Ph.D., is a Senior Program Manager for the Cancer Registry of Greater California (CRGC) at the Public Health Institute (PHI) and has overseen the CCR-funded Kaiser Permanente Lifestyle Medicine, PHI-CRGC grant since 2019. Prior to joining PHI and following an academic career, Dr. Alfaro-Velcamp worked as a Threat Analyst at Facebook. In 2018, she became Emeritus Professor at Sonoma State University. She was also a Legislative Ambassador for the American Cancer Society (ACS) from 2010-2013. Dr. Alfaro-Velcamp has published two books and over twenty peer-reviewed articles in public health, law and history, anthropology and refugee studies. Her work has been published in NAACCReview, Cogent Medicine, International Journal of Migration, Health and Social Care, Journal of Academic Ethics, and Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.
